Umar Munshi is a serial entrepreneur, social entrepreneur, and thought-leader in Islamic Crowdfunding who has been featured in the Islamica 500 publication 2016 of Islamic Economy influencers. He started his first business at the age of 18 and hasn’t looked back. He is the CEO of EthisKapital.com, the world’s first Islamic P2P/Crowdfunding platform from Securities Commission Malaysia, as well as the Managing Partner of EthisCrowd.com, the world’s 1st Islamic Real Estate Crowdfunding platform which was awarded the Best Islamic Crowdfunding Platform 2016 (GIFA Awards) and Islamic Economy Award for SME Development 2016. Munshi recently founded EthisVentures.com, which partners with and supports Islamic Crowdfunding platforms, including award-winning SME P2P financing platform KapitalBoost.com. Ethis Ventures also operates WaqfWorld.org (beta), the 1st global Waqf crowdfunding Platform, as well as MuslimWomenTech.com, a mentorship-crowdfunding network to provide donations for startups and initiatives by Muslim Women. Munshi is also a partner in Ihram.asia, the leading Umrah-travel marketplace in Indonesia and sits on the Board of the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce. He is also the Singapore Representative of TDA, an Indonesian Community of 20,000 entrepreneurs.
